Artist Statement
Art has always provided a serene and therapeutic refuge for the expression of my thoughts and emotions. My familiarity and passion for the processes and techniques involved in the production of metal sculpture allows me to express myself in a non-verbal language.
Through the fusion, distortion, and placement of cast, fabricated and found elements I strive to transform the chaos and uncertainty of the world around and within me into sculptural compositions of order, balance and tranquility.
As an artist, I strive to ensure that each work is a unique expression and lasting "memory jug" created to surpass the limitations of my own existence. Through my work, I seek to transcend the ordinary constraints of material and allow the abstract and unseen to take shape within the tangible. My sculptures are the embodiment of my resistance to embodiment.
